engine knock

Hello all - Not much of a mechanic here. Just would like my 88 RX-7 conv with 13-B non turbo engine to keep running well. Anyway, here's my problem. I just had the oil changed 100 miles ago and now (at 118K miles) the engine has a knock in it. Not a small little ping but a deep knock that increases in intensity as the rpm's increase. That sounds very ominous to me. Any advice? Thanks!
