Engine Fire... crap
Engine Fire... crap
So, after reading many stories about people keeping fire extinguishers on board, and thinking I will never need one. Definitely buying one this week.
Friday night, I was running my car pretty hard. I didn't overheat or anything, but all of a sudden sparks starting shooting out behind my car. ****! I pulled over instantly, and there was a small fire coming from between the firewall and the engine, just behind the intercooler. I haven't had a chance to take a good look at it yet, so I don't know exactly what it was that lit on fire. Luckily I had a big bottle of water in the car and was able to put it out. I let the car sit on the side of the road until the morning, at which time I went, started it and drove it home, without incident.
Any idea what could have happened?
