engine core differences between T2 andmn/a on a 90 car

im wondering what the actual engine core differences are. housings, rotors, ect.

i know that the rotor housings themselves have the little dip in them for the turbos, but what else if any are the differences?

thanks

None, I am pretty sure, but I could be wrong. Even the weight of the rotors is the same (what is it like... 9.53Lbs or somethin like that?).

Turbos do not have the N/A exhaust port diffuser.

Compression:
S5 N/A: 9.5
S5 TII: 9.0

Dunno if this counts as "core", but the TIIs have extra coolant and oil lines for the turbo.

That's it.

No. Pull of the exhaust manifold on an N/A, and there are little fins in the actual holes. Pull off the manifold on a TII, just 2 holes. The auxillary ports (5ht and 6th ports) are intake ports in the intake manifolds that are for N/A cars only, as the TII has 4 intake runners, or "ports". But that has to do w/ the manifolds, not the block.

Actually I forgot that stuff.

The N/A motors have six intake ports, while the TIIs have 4. This is actually in the endplates.

if you are looking at 2 bare blocks side by side.
the front covers are identical, as are the oil pans.
the front steel, on the t2 will have 1 intake port, and on the top will have a threaded hole for the turbo oil supply. the rotor housings for the turbo will have an extra threaded hole above the spark plugs for the knock sensor, the hole "inline" with the intake ports will be open, for coolant. the turbo exhaust port will be open and not have the diffusers in there. the center housing has an extra bolt hole for the intake above the intake ports. the rear rotor housing is the same as the front except it has an r stamped in it on top of the engine. the rear steel is the same except for the intake ports.

the s5 engines can be id'ed by looking at the casting #'s that appear on the iron housings. they will say n350, the t2 and na start out the same casting

WRONG...the t2 front cover will have an oil drain inlet by the OMP. The NA one has teh hole for it, but it is not machined out.
