engine condition (spark plug pix inside)

s4 TII has about 97k miles
550/880cc injectors
crane cam high on leading coil
still running on stock ecu (for now). last time i checked compression it was 100 psi in front and 90 psi in rear
how do you think its burning?
i just replaced wires after taking the pictures (dont know if previous owner had done it before)

look pretty normal to me

if they dark as night or have gas on them they have clearly been flooded/fouled. if they are white then you have been detonating--not a problem on a mostly stock motor usually.

Normal worn out steel plugs. Good tune.

Maybe go platinum on the replacement leading plugs. (BUR7EQP)
That way the leading & trailing wear out at about the same time.

ya it looks like the rotor in front is buring it well because of the tanish color.rear rotor has some some black plugs but not has dark as night either. seems a tad bit wet (im assuming because of lower compression)
no white thank god.
my friend took the pix idk what happened lol
ive been getting crappy fuel mileage and idk y. car runs alittle funny also when I boost sometimes it bogs:-(

where can I get those platinum plugs sureshot?

yo 13btii wadup ill hit u up...even your car used to get better mileage and u had bigger Injectors lol, gotta get that megasquirt soon!

I got my last set of NGK platinums from Advance Auto Parts for like $8.00 each. They did have to order them but I still got em the next day no problem.

ah ah ah..do not give bad advice...

to replace a "normal" spark plug with platinums is not always the best course of action. Vehicles that use platinum spark plugs are SPECIFICALLY ENGINEERED for them. Replacing them can lead to a higher or lower than normal spark plug heat range. Thus effecting burn time, flame pattern, etc etc. So choose a spark plug that is designed for the vehicle. Sorry if i seem a bit disgruntled, but I see this at work all the time, customers come in with driveability issues, come to find out they put in the expensive platinum plugs, thinking they would be better..Moral of the story now more than ever manufacturers are designing cars with less and less tolerances for things like this, platiunum is not always better

btw...are those some kind of fancy 4 electrode spark plugs or something?? or just a weird angle, if so put some normal, 1 electrode plugs in there!

just my .02

hope that helped..

Dave.

The 4 electrodes are normal for the NGK style spark plugs. No need to go searching for 1 electrode type spark plugs when the NGK's were made for rotary's.
