Sometimes when i go to start the car i turn the key and the engine will simply just click, then i turn the key again and click etc. always clicks 3 times then it will start normally?? any idea what it could be???
engine is in good condition
car is a S4 n/a

Check all of your battery connections for looseness and corrosion, from the battery to the starter, including grounds. If that doesn't solve it, the ignition switch may be going out.

 

Sounds like the starter silinoid(sp?) to me. Your lucky it doesnt click 4 times. 4 clicks and your car will self destruct!!

 

Bad grounds
Bad connections on terminals
Bad ignition
Bad starter solenoid

 

is your car an auto? my sev used to do that sorta thing when it was auto and i'd just push the lever up into park more and it'd start.

 

I recently got a new battery also new connections. might have to have a poke around see if its all tight.
