Energy silent bloc masterkit

Hi all,

I've bought a polyurethane silent bloc masterkit from energy a while ago.
Today we took off the rear end of my fc in order to fix my differential and to install new coilovers and the silent blocs.
The first half went nice but the silent bloc part... much less...

Basically i've several issue:

- the big silent bloc for rear arm (the one install were you set your suspension parallelism), they look bigger than the hole where they should fit. So we can't get them in place. For the moment they are in the fridge, hoping it will help to put them in place. As anyone ever encountered this ?

- the silent bloc shaped like a hat (tie rod boot and ball joint boot 2 of each), where do they fit ?

- what is a endlink ? is it the sort of rods between the sway bar and the suspension arm ?

also, there is a almost vertical rod maintaining the differential, is it necessary to change the silent blocs on this ? same for the beam where are attached the rear suspension arms, there are two massive silent blocs, do they have to be changed ? (i changed the differential silent bloc by mazdaspeed ones)

The bar right behind the differential is the camber link, and the small bars on the inside of each control arm are also for camber. I would recommend replacing all 3 with adjustable pieces. I'm not sure who will ship overseas, but one place to check with is Mazdatrix.

http://mazdatrix.com/h6_86-92.htm and go down to page until you get to "Rear Camber Adjusting for 86-92" and "Adjustable (ON the car) Rear Camber Links" for the parts in question.

On the large bushings for the control arms, I would place the bushings in your freezer and let them get as cold as you can before installing them. If that doesn't work you will have to use a press to install them. Is there still a metal sleeve from the old bushing inside of the control arm?

for the moment i wont change get a camber kit, first i'll see how it looks once the car is slammed

the large bushes are in the freeze since yesterday, we'll see how it works next time we fix the car.
I also thought about cuting a chamfer like 2mm deep on the end of the bush in order to avoid having it going sideway when pressing.
there is nothing left of the old bushing, everything has burned and the old sleeve is in the trashbin.

the rod i was talking was not the camber rods was the one almost vertical.

on this one it's the one that we just next to the left diff mount in purple. there is just one on one side.

lol it's just a picture from internet to show what i wanted to say lol

the purple ones are from supernow, you can get them from rhdjapan but the rod kit is like 1400€ so somewhere around 1800$ i'd say (without shipping)

that's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over what i want to pay for my car lol, that's not a track project

got the big silent bloc in place now but it's impossible to put the sleeve in place. the silent bloc moved away of 2-3mm on each side, because they are just too big... i don't understand what energy did with this kit... i've heard lots of good feedback from civic owners, but the fc kit is really bad...

one of the review from the energy site says :

OK, so I'll go ahead and state what I DIDN'T like first: The rear control arms on the FC chassis RX-7 have a stamped steel sleeve in them. The sleeve has a flange, which mates to the outside of the control arm bushing bore face. NO WHERE in the instructions was I informed that this sleeve had to be removed, and after fighting with it for hours, I figured it out by going online.

so if i understand correctly, i should take of the silent bloc, then the "sleeves" directly mounted on the arms. then put back the energy silent bloc...

Haha I was asking because it looks like they painted dual alternator pulleys and bolted them on. I should try that.

Yes, that is why I asked if you removed the steel sleeve. I'm not talking about the part inside of the bushing. A lot of OEM bushings for cars have a steel sleeve on the outside of the bushing. But it seems like a lot of car owners will burn or drill out the rubber and forget about the sleeve.
