emmisions control units

Hello everyone,
I have a question, I read all of this stuff, and i look at the manuals, all of the emissions stuff aka the charcol filter, can you remove that stuff and will the engine still run good ( not legaly) but will it have any increase in performance, or is it no worth the hassle. Somebody help me please, thanx

It will run fine. There won't be an increase in performance (at least for N/A, no clue about TII). It just simplifies. There's a thread I think still on the first page about this exact subject.
