Emissions help
My 87 turbo 2 failed the colorado emissions test @ idle only??
HC PPM Limits 400
Idle = 720 Fail
2500 rpm= 26 Pass
CO% limit 1.50
Idle 2.21 Fail
2500 rpm=0.13 pass
All emissions equipment is on! Is there some other way to get the HC PPM and Co down with out barrowing my friends AFC??

I'm afraid to ask what that means about the Ford Focus and twenty bucks. Good for you though. I was going to suggest going to the variable resistor and with the car fully warmed up, trying to turn it counterclockwise until the car would still idle fairly good and then try again.
One good use of looking at the 02 sensor at idle with a meter, is that I've noticed that it will read rich, like .75 volts if the variable resistor is turned too rich i.e. clockwise a touch too far. By watching the meter and turning counterclockwise, I've see that .75volts turn into a minus voltage or something like .010 etc. To do this the car has to be fully hot and just come down from running at a higher rpm, because the 02 after a few minutes at idle will just not work worth a flip. Normal for 02 sensors.
Bottom line is you would have leaned it out at idle and possibly passed. Ford Focus and sticker?????? Hmmmm. Don't wanna know! But I've got ideas how it might have happened .
