Emission Problems

Rotary mind...

Well, I had to remove the original aluminum plug from the AFM and adjust the screw. I opened (by-pass) it a bit too much at first to where CO emissions were 0.8%. But then I drove around and the secondary injectors never came on after 3800. I guess the reading from the AFM @ 3800 was not high enough to activate them. I never thought that would happen.
I went back and closed the by pass to where CO was @ 1.2% and HC was at about 800-900 and went for another drive.
The car pulled better and the secondaries activated but I feels like its running very lean.
I took it to the station like that and passed. The guy said "very clean exhaust for a rotary. No gas smell"
So I have been driving around like that since, but I want to close the by pass a bit more to help with the lean problem with the secondaries and would like to get a bigger and better flowing cat. Maybe metal matrix.
I called Magnaflow and they told me that the cat I have is a 3 way. No matter since they don't measure that in my car.
Oh, CO2 was 10% as measured.
I will try to see how well the car runs with the leading plugs not firing. Compression should be good but I'll look for a gauge. The engine was fully rebuilt with new everything (rotors, irons, housings, all rotor parts and gaskets) about 25.000 miles ago and I don't drive like a maniac all the time.
