Fuel Injector Question: New Rebuilt Engine, Car Sat for Years
Hello Rx Community,
I am trying to finish up a few things on my FD before I get it tuned and I keep going back and forth on if I should get the injectors cleaned.
The engine has 2k on a new rebuilt and it has 550 primary and 1200 secondary injectors that were cleaned before it was installed after the rebuild (i have paperwork from PO). The problem is....the engine was rebuilt in 2009 and the car was sitting in the garage from 2010 until I bought it in March 2015. The owner mentioned that he would start the car 3 times a year or so.
I have already done most of the maintenance (new oil and filter, new fuel filter, new brake fluid, etc.) but I am not sure if the injectors will need to be cleaned since they only have 2k miles on them.
I know..I know.. It wouldn't hurt to get them cleaned anyway, but, I'm just curious to hear some advice from people that have had this situation or have much more knowledge about fuel injectors than I do. Because, obviously, if I don't have to get them cleaned I won't put in the time to remove them and would rather spend that time and money on something else for my FD.
Advice?

It's hard to say, I would have them clean just to be safe if you want to stick with these injectors.
I'm with Ihor about upgrading to EV14 tho, he can get you some good deal on injector too. When I send my stockers out I sent 2 sets just so I can pick the best out of the 8, and couple of them came back with a case leak and not recommended to be use. Then 300 miles later I upgraded to EV14 secondary so I can have my car tune, if I have to do it again I would just upgrade and not spend money cleaning the old injectors, not to mention the time to tear everything down twice.
