thanks, ill try that, oh btws the douche that owned my car before me took out the knock control unit, i would think thats important. ......everything was a farmer job, messy, and half-assed. well for now the idle prob is under control but i think i just did a temporary fix; adjusted the idle lower, and adjusted the Rich/Lean **** till it was stable, but i doubt thats the proper fix.
i was just thinking if the idle prob could be a result of an 87 TII computer with a '90 engine?
lastly i want to add that tiger japanese auto are the ones who installed my motor, and it wasnt even running when i received my car, my friend and i had to work on it. they cheaped out on my friend's car and reused parts that werent meant for his motor. They arent trustworthy, and i've heard complaints that they sold blown /bad motors to ppl.

if that hole in your bov pipe isnt blocked it will not spool too great or run right . I had the same hot start prob. and thought it was my injectors leaking , wound up changing tps and cured hot start problem but not my lack of fuel until 3500 rpm problem.

The knock control unit barely works on these cars, you'll know if your car is detonating before the knock sensor does. Its not a problem having it removed. I don't have one, and many other people don't run one.

Idle should be at about 750-900 depending on if you have accessories and a BAC or not. If you can, set your idle to 750 and then set your TPS, then you can set the idle to 800-900 or what ever you want. Look up idle adjustment and adjust it accordingly.

The idle problem is definitely not a result of having a S5 engine in an S4 car. As long as you're using all S4 components with that computer it's fine. My S4 car is running an S5 TII engine block and an S4 setup with a N333 or N332 computer and it idles and runs perfect. I do however use the AFM to start my car when its warm via the 3B terminal on the ecu connector switched off and switch it on when its cold. My car won't start right now with the internal fuel map, and thats not due to leaky injectors or low compression because the engine is brand new and broken in and everything is brand new, even the wiring harness, everything! It still won't start with the internal fuel map. So my quest continues...

Tiger Jdm... yeah those guys.... um... don't like them

yea, im running the old components with the old comp im good then.
kool thanks.
but this erratic idle only happens when i start the car.
1. car is cold, starts fine then idles fine
2. car warms up then the idle goes back and fourth about a differnce of 500rpms
3. car warms to proper temp, erratic idle stops, and only pops up now and then, and only in neutral.
im stumped,... i think its a result of not having the air control valve, and the bac valve.
does anyone else have a car without these 2 valves and their car runs fine?
