Electrical Problem w/ Gauge Cluster...Need Help!!

Hello everybody. I'm having a wierd problem with my guage cluster. The lights work but only the speedo works...duh...cable driven. I checked and replaced all fuses. Everything looks good. They still didnt work. I then took out my multimeter and started checking for voltages. When I took out my meter fuse the beep beep beep sound started going off because i had my lights on. Keep in mind the ignition was on but the car was off at this point. Any ideas what that might be. I'm guessing a short from behind the fuse block. Could someone give me a couple of pointers for this or am I destined for doom?? Anything would probably help. Thanks.

No sorry, I've been in Iraq for nearly the last 4 months so, naturally, I haven't been working on it. The car is wrecked now anyhow so I probably will never find the reason behind that problem, however, I do believe that the cause was something to do with the stereo wiring. Sorry I couldn't help.

You pull off the 21pin connector called C0-3 that is located to the left of the steering column and fwd of the combination meter. Then you look for battery voltage on the black/Yellow wire on the connector half that feeds from the fuse box. No voltage? Then you replace the METER fuse. Done.

Sorry to bring back such an old post, but I currently have this problem but with a little twist.

All my gauges work from a cold start, but give it a minute or two and they all shut off(except the speedo, of course )

Could the fuse still be the problem even thought it does work for the first couple of minutes?

bad solder joint on the back of the gauge cluster or a loose screw on the back of the cluster.

I figure I should post the cause of the problem now that I have figured it out. On the electrical board, there was a break in one of the solid copper pieces near the start of the circut. no power = no gauges. Hope this helps somebody.
