electrical (ecu voltage/ohm/watt) gurrus needed
Ok if any of you guys are keeping up with my rx7 drama you will know that I ASSumed that the 890cc injectors I recieved where low impedance so I installed some resistors and took the car out for a ride and shure enough it let me know real quick that something was wrong at the secondary cut on. Well I ohmed the injectors out to find that they where high impedance after all however when I took the resisters out I found that the same problem wasn't there however it started bucking, back firing and going from 12 to 21 on the wideband at secondary cut on. My question is could the ecu be bad because of what I did? Could 23watts instead of 13 watts caused damage to the ecu?? HOw possible is it? I'm going out to test drive it again in a second and will run a multimeter to the secondaries to see what is happening when they do/don't kick on. ANy help would be great! Thanks.

I don't know...That's the short answer
What you were doing was showing the ECU double the impedance load it's used to. Now depending on the design of the circuits inside the ECU, that either doubled the current (amps) through the circuit...OR...not...
I say keep driving her around for a bit. Let the ECU get used to the new setup, see if it tweaks itself back into shape...
And yeah, you really need to pay attention to the meter on the secondaries' ECU inputs now. They both should be running system voltage until kick-off time, at which point voltage will fall big time to about 6 to 8v, maybe a bit more, depending on how hard you're romping...
Both injectors should exhibit the same characteristics, if not, get back to begging us for some more input

well shiznit! I put the tester on both the secondaries and sure enough right at the cut on, when the bogging and backfiring starts, the secondaries go from 13.5 volts to like 11 and 10 volts. So now that we know thats ok what are the other options if I've tested the secondaries and they sprayed evenly and its getting the voltage drop when the secondaries kick in?

Thanks for replying wayne. Well when the secondaries kick in it goes from 12 to 21 back and forth like a little needle and countinues to do this. SHould I just take the injectors to a pro and have them clean and test them to make sure they are ok? I should have tried my 720cc injectors back in the secondary location before I sold them Anyways what do ya think?

Man, I don't know- the A/F bounces back and forth AFTER they come on line?
Everything runs normal up to the 3800 thing?
Yeah, take a closer look at the injectors then, especially if this is a new prob that cropped up with this particular set.
If not the injectors, then we'll have to troubleshoot the electronics and/or inputs...

blahhhhh, don't even know were to begin doing that ****! I"ll send them off to cruzin while I'm on my honeymoon to see what they say. Ahhh **** that I don't wanna take my manifold of right now, lol. Jeez this sucks!
lol, I didn't really even think about that ddub, haha thanks for the suggestion

thanks brother I appreciate that! Really its very simple to take my manifold off because its just 5 bolts and 3 vac hoses left on that bastard plus un bolting one piece of the fmic but still I gotta get going by 3 in the morning to get to george bush international airport by 6. You know any good routes?
