He is the "K" in KG lol

you don't need to make them go "all in"
only a few turns and your set

Ah.. cool. I have teflon tape. I just wanted to screw them in as much to take a pic so I can post it. Hey El Nene, does yours go in the same distance as mine? Looks like were good to go with the 3/8" NPT adapters that we have. As long as Keith says its okay for them to be like this Im okay with it also. Thanks Keith.

DO NOT go He-Man / Incredible Hulk on them. Doing this WILL snap the extrusion.

These are NPT not NPS. NPT is tapered while NPS is a straight thread. The "T" does not always stand for "Thread" as many people refer to a NPT. It stands for National Pipe Tapered. These are also refered to as ANSI B1.20.1. The taper is 1/16in per 1in.
I am sure a quick google will turn up some results for your comfort level.

If you have a 3/8"npt tap,you can just tap the rails a bit more to seat the fittings in a bit farther. Just don't go nuts on the taper so they won't seal and ruin the rails(You know, common sense sh#t).

maybe 14mm?? I believe ATPturbo sells a oil fitting for the front cover thats 14mm to -3AN for the oil feed line.

I wasnt going to go Heman with tightening it on there.. haha.. I just hand tightened it to snap the pics.. I just wanted to make sure its okay to have it stickin out like that. Thanks for that info though Keith.

Sorry, been there already on the LIM and UIM... takes some time but looks great when done.... and what kind of paint did you use on the engine?

And was wondering why you opted for an E6X over the E8?

and you boys should step up to a GT4202.... You can find those for less money than i bet you paid for the T70

It IS weird, because the front cover fitting is not tapered. I completely understand and sympathise with your feelings on the "not all the way in look" BUT even if you find what would "also" work.... THAT is what I would not trust. Not the exact thread it was made to use. Diesel fuel will fit in your gas tank, but you wouldnt use it right? When I had the die for the extrusion made, I specificaly picked the ID of what would be the rail you now have.

I never had the big holes he had in his.... i just had a couple holes that were the ports for the ACV going into the runners.... i TIG'd whatever holes i had, and like the big holes where the coolant comes through the manifold from the housings..... It looks like the aluminium pulled away or something when he did it.

he will have to watch so when he welds that the weld puddle doesnt droop down into the runners path too much or grind once he is done.

lol wont ad any hp... .... that is what the 102mm wheel on the GT42 is for

They probably TIG welded in the holes, and grinded them flush.

What kind of turbine are you using on the T70? Ptrim or Q? the turbo i am replacing with the GT42 was PT67 (66.5mm inducer) with Ptrim turbine on a 1.15 ar hotside and had little lag with that setup.......

It makes sense in your head that it is easier to spin a smaller turbine wheel, but i have read too that with a bigger turbine wheel it is easier to spool because exhaust gas has more leverage on a larger diameter wheel, also wiht a larger turbine wheel you get a better ratio between your comp wheel area and turbine wheel area, and rotaries like big hotsides.... I guess people have had luck with them even on stockports so i dunno

I found a brand new gt42 for 800 shipped so i went for it, you will like the t70 as it was similar to my PT67... it comes on super hard and will hold too redline, and will do 500 wheel... you'll like it

everything looks good though man, nice work
