egt guage temps
I was talking to my mechanic about rebuilding my turbo, and he told me I should get guages, and I told him that I already had the main three but not installed yet. He asked me how high my egt gauge read, and I told him 1200, and he said that may not read high enough. He races rx7's and has been for years and says he gets much higher temps. He gave me a range, but I have forgotten. Now he usually runs n/a's... Could this be a turbo/na difference, or something else? Basically, I want to know if my guage is gonna work out or not. It's the greddy electronic 52mm.

you're probbaly running pretty rich. 1300-1450F (700-800C) in the downpipe is more like it after a good pull.
the N/A's will be higher though.
edit: wait you are hitting 1200 on your greddy gauge? that's in "C" that's why why to much. you're lucky the car still runs if that's the case.
edit #2: never mind it's not even in yet 1200 was just the max reading LOL... it's in "C" so you will never max it... 800 is around max.
