Egr block off gasket

Egr block off gasket

I made a egr block off gasket... I will be using the orange high temp silicone too on both sides.. Will my gasket work?

And I mean work as in the holes for the egr holes... I wasn't sure if I covered them that vacuum or something would suck the gasket

Yea I see no reason it wouldn't work.

I used black rtv on mine and I haven't had an issue so far (8,000miles).

If you use a gasket, I do not see why you would also need to use rtv. There isn't rtv there from the factory.

The RTV is just in case my home made gasket fails... Plus it's a little on the thin side.

because block off plates always warp when bolted down, even the thickest stamped steel ones always leak to some degree. i always use silicone on block off plates if you want the best results, regardless of the mess to clean up if you need to revert it, it's the price you pay.

the worst were some tin sheets with just a gasket, may as well have not put anything on there...
