This has been covered so many times...

If you want cheap, you can't go wrong with the GM fans as described here:
http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/efaninstall.htm

Very cheap from the wreckers and highly reliable as it's a OEM product. Also fits the 2nd gen rad perfectly.

I ran the zirgo fan for a while with a koyo and it would take a while for the temps to come down after hard driving. You will need a fan shroud(sp??) if you go with it. just get a better radiator and that should do it.

What's up misterstyx69?
Have you checked out Perma-Cool? Not too much more expensive.
They fit together nicely with the Taurus shroud's.
I'm running the 16" with the larger Taurus shroud and
a friend of mine has the smaller Taurus shroud and
is running the 14". Both work well.
For about $60, you could probably get both the Taurus shroud and fan from a junkyard but I bet that fan draws a few more amps. Have fun!

The efan for the Taurus with a 3.8 liter fan works great with my setup. This fan is larger than the one that is for the 3.0 liter Taurus. I'm running a Koyo radiator and the shroud fits great. It cools quickly any time it is activated. I used only the low speed of the fan all summer and it always dropped the temp when it turns on.

There is concern that the fan pulls too many amps by some other club members. I've not had any problems with this fan (no immediate voltage drop, or dimming of lights, etc. I'm running a remanned S4 alternator. I do not, however, use any radio equipment or air conditioning.

Oh yeah, it cost me $40 at the local junk yard.

I've used the black magic flex a lite fan for over 15 years now (it finally died, las summer).

The SAME fan can be found at:

kills your alt too. I have mine wired to a thermoswitch. No power drain, and no issues with cooling.

Did you called them? Flex a lite (and pro form) have an exceptional warranty. I'll admit to their WEAK thermoswitch, other than that they have been great. I've installed two black magics, and a pro form (on different cars); none of them had an issue (except for mine that lasted over 15 years).

BTW - Mine was configured to ON at all times for several years (stupid thermoswitch stopped working).
