ECU Question, not found on Search

I did a search and couldnt find an answer, so here goes,
I just got a JDM 91 Turbo II engine without the ECU. I am not ready to run a Haltech type system, so what type of ECU should I use, I have noticed various on sale but am confused, do I need to know if the car was automatic, convertible, etc. I just need it to run the engine w/turbo. I see many 350 models for sale, but I was told that the turbo had a higher number 370 or 374. Is this true, if so which one, if not which ones could I get away with. The engine is not going on an actual RX7, but a kit.
Thanks in advance

You need a S5 ECU from a TurboII, that is 89 to 91. There is no differance from JDM FC's and USDM. The ECU codes are.

84-85 GSL-SE N304 18 880A
86-87 NA N326 18 880, N3Y6 18 880
87 Turbo N332 18 880
88 NA N327 18 880
88 Turbo N333 18 880
88 Convertible N338 18 880
89 NA California N350 18 880
89 NA Fed. N351 18 880
89 Conv. CA N352 18 880
89 Conv. Fed. N353 18 880
89 Turbo N370 18 880

I think we need a temporary gag order on him.
First the no-check-valve-on-the-brake-booster, and now this...

Errr the differances are so minute. What sanificant changes are you refering to NZ?

RETed - Damn like I said my TII did not have one. Still dosent. Why do we need one? GTU seems to be braking perfectly with the turbo setup and no check valve.

S5's have them INSIDE the hose.
Try feeling your vacuum hose nearby the brake booster - you should feel a hard spot.
Unless someone changed the hose and forgot to replace the check valve?

Sigh at the neglected arrogance around today :-(

I have never owned a S5. So I do not know.

Now I just went to my car to confirm this again. It has a check valve where I thought in the hose from the booster to the hard line. There is no valve from the hard line to the LIM. Now the post you all had a hissy over the dood was asking about the line from the hard line to his LIM and not the other one. There is no check valve in this line.

I never used the word significant (but I can spell it).

The J-spec ECU controls equipment US-spec cars don't have, like the speed limiter. The US-spec ECU controls equipment J-spec cars don't have, like some emission controls. They are different.

That’s is 1000% what I consider insignificant.

If it causes a issues of performance or reliability then I am wrong and sorry. But i doubt it.
