ecu question

hello 2nd gen owners, i have a questions regarding the S4 Turbo II ecu. Can I use the ECU without using the CAS? Reason I ask is because I am turboing my 6port motor(GSL-SE) and would like to use the distrubutor on the motor. I am using the S4 TII intake manifold, turbo, engine harness,ECU, and everything on the harness (i.e. sensors, injectors, etc...). I also notice that I am missing one of the plugs for the ecu, the one on the very right. Can someone please tell me what plug this is for and do i need it. thanks for reading this post and help me out. i really appreciate it.

No, absolutely not. It's what tells the ECU how fast the engine's turning and and where it is in the cycle, so the ECU knows when to fire the injectors and spark plugs. It's useless without it.

YOU can probebly wire up the distributor's pickups to work like the CAS however, which is how the 1gen GSLSE's that are EFI are set up. Even though the disty will handle the spark, without a CAS position input the ecu would be operating blind and have no clue when to inject fuel, so it would just not do it at all.

There are options which are more easy to execute, but yours is not.
Either go with a turbo ECU (cheapest) or go with a stand-alone EMS (best but most expensive) or scrap the project entirely.
