ECU questinons HELP

I have just ordered a Jspec S4 13bt. Its not comming with the Jspec ECU because it was damaged from Japan. But i already own a USDM ECU out of a 1987 TII, will this work or is the Jspec just to different for the US ECU?

your sol if the jap ECU is garbage, call a JDM importer and see if you can get them to part with one, or run a flying lead with a stand alone.

i have a s5 TII jap ecu but that wont do you any good. if your technical, its posiable to make it work but just plug and play your asking for trouble

The Jap engine is the same as the one sold in the USA. It is not special in any way. Use USA EM harness and USA ECU. Throw away the JSPEC EM harness and JSPEC ECU if you get one. Done.

Hailers are you sure it will work? and how can i tell when the motor gets here if its a 87 low imp. motor(ecu would be N332) or 88 high imp. (N333) correct? How can i tell

You still need the US-spec engine wiring harness unless you have a RHD chassis and the import engine comes with an intact engine wiring harness?
Be prepared to pay over $1,000 from the Mazda dealer.

Either N332 or N333 will work.

Either of the above needs to see a resistance in the injector circuit. IF the new used engine has high impedence injectors of approx 12ohms, that's all that is needed.
If the new/used engine has injectors of low impedence of 2-3 ohms, then you need to install the solenoid resistor package that comes with early RX-7s.

Again, it's not the ECU that you need to look at. You need to ohm out the injectors on the engine and follow the advice above.

hailers is right, tho one thing

isnt all jspec motors come high imp anyway?

and yes if you have a usdm t2 ecu and engine harness (should have resistor pack) you run the usdm low imp injectors

i had a situation which i can get answerd maybe hailers or reted can answer (asked reted in another thread)

i bought a jspec engine ( luce 929) and wasnt so sure if all jspec motors ran high imp, so to not risk any problems further on i grabbed a set of s5 t2 injectors ran it to a jspec rx7 engine harness and plugged it up to a usdm s4 t2 ecu. im aware that injector impedence has nothing to do with the ecu only through the wiring harness. the car started and ran perfect, tho i was wonder this whole time if id be messing up the usdm ecu drivers running such set up?

Ok, I have the N332 ECU and corrosponding harness out of my 1987 Tii. I would be able to do so, but my question is what is the difference in harnesses between Jspec and USDM?

One is for a right hand drive car. So the wires and connectors aren't in the right place.
