it *might* be going into limp mode....

But it could be many things, a little more info would be great, such as, is it revving up fine when its at "half" power, its just a little slow....does it buck or run rough when its "half power".......just exand on the problem a bit more.

Start by blinking the error codes.
Check & re-secure the grounds, especially the cheezy clip on the firewall.
Clip an ohmmeter on the TPS & check for a smooth sweep in values as you work the plunger.

when the idal if you let off the gas and try to let it idal it dies out if you dont keep the rpms up and it wont start unless you spray starting fluid/ gas in the intake.

I'm having the same problem and I know what's causing it: my ECU is not telling one of the primary injectors to fire. I gave the damn shop $750 to install a new injector before they figured that out, so when they told me they wanted to replace the ECU for another $950, I told them I'd just do it myself. (I also returned their p.o.s. Grand Marquis loaner smelling pretty bad... apparently beer explodes in a car trunk on a hot day ;-).

My engine's not throwing any error codes. You should check yours. After that, check the pins on the ECU that go to the primary injectors (pinout is in FSM).

Also, don't drive the car around too much like that. I limped the car home from the shop, and although the temperature gauge was doing just fine, there was smoke coming from under the hood when I got home. Hope I don't replace the ECU and then figure out I blew a seal or something...
