ECU Connectors

I've used the search function and came up with nothing. I was wondering how different the connectors on the ECU was from the S4 to S5 cars. What has to be done in order for an S4 to accept an S5 ECU?

Thanks

If you're displeased w/ the search engine, please go here and voice your concerns

Now as for the ECU, the plugs/connectors and different sizes, and in different places for the S4 and S5 ECU. You'd have to get pinout diagrams for both ecu's and do a lot of splicing/ repining.

Or you could just get the proper ECU for your application

*my vote is for number 2*

Even with all the wiring sorted out, an S5 ECU is going to be very unhappy without it's expected feedback from the S5's electric MOP and wide range TPS.
You'll be stuck in limp mode.

both of them have a valid point, if u are trying to run an s5 ecu with an s4 engine, its not gunna behave correctly because its expecting different signals... however if ur talking about putting an s5 into an s4 shell and running the s5 ecu with s4 chassis harness, it is different, but its nothing that cant be accomplished... im running an 87 sport with the s5 t2 with all s5 electricals, and s4 chassis harnesses

The main reason I ask is I'm planning on running the Apexi Power FC. Apexi offers it for the 89-91 cars, however not one for the 86-88, I may be wrong though. I looked around all over the net and couldn't find a listing for the Zenki, and Apexi didn't list it on their site. Unless there is a conversion harness I can get somewhere, that would help a lot. If any of you guys have any recommendations, let me know.

Thanks, any help is much appreciated.

I saw that as an option; my friend is just more familiar with AEM and Apexi. I would of gone AEM, if it was offered for the car. Is the functionality similar to that of AEM EMS and Apexi Power FC? I would like to go with Power FC; anyone out there that have done this before?

Any help is appreciated.
