I seriously doubt its programmed for more then a US one unless its been chipped then nobody knows how much it is set for except the one that had it installed in there car. Is this not one that came w/ the engine? If it came w/ the engine then it should be just what it needs to be and likely stock.

Well the ecu doesnt control how much the turbo boosts. The ecu just gets programmed for more fuel to compensate for the extra air. And I dont think a non after market ecu gets that even. What exhaust are you running?

Thats whats causing the higher boost. You need to look into either porting the waste gate or some fuel management. Or else you do run the risk of the engine going out do to running lean.

the reason for porting the waste gate is to get it back down to normal boost. What happens is that the exhaust has so much flow and the waste gate has so little that the turbo spools more then normal. Running higher boost is fine but w/o proper supporting mods you run the risk of blowing your engine. You need to look into after market fuel management. Unless I am incorrect and 10 psi isnt a problem but this is what I have read before. Even w/ proper mods I reccomend porting the waste gate and putting a boost controller on. This will allow the turbo to spool up to your 10psi but not pass it which it could potentially do w/o a ported waste gate. I wouldn't mind if someone else would jump in and confirm what I am saying because I really don't have any experience I am just repeating what others have posted. I do know running your engine lean can be very harmful though. Do your homework and do a search about this stuff before posting. I believe others are not answering because this is such a common question just people are usually asking it about exhaust before they install it.

I had a JDM N318. I would work on some days and it would not work the next. I also had to get another AFM and Boost Sensor. I then bought a US Spec N333 and now I have the Rtek 2.1 installed. By the way I have an 87 JDM 13bt in my 87 NA.
