I plan on purchasing a Starion Intercooler for my FMIC. For those of you that have taken your car to an exhaust shop and had them make your piping for you, how much did it cost, roughly? I don't have access to a mandrel bender or other pipe-fabbing tools, and I'm putting together a list of things I need to get and their costs, I'm trying to budget this.

Please post how much you were charged for I/C pipes, along with where it was done. It shouldn't be dependant on the intercooler, but I posted my planned I/C just in case. Thanks in advance.

Starion intercoolers were the best route instead of buying a Greddy/HKS/Apexi model back in like 2000 or 2001 because that was the only option back then.

That was before the Import / 240SX boom.

Starion intercoolers really do not flow all that well but work well enough if you are not going for outright performance. They are also a cheap find.

Because of the RWD/Turbo Boom there are plenty of free flowing intercoolers on Ebay all the time for dirt cheap. Most of them are Made in China by the same company that mass produces them for SSAC or XS Power. They are a direct buyer from the China Suppliers.

Your best bet is to find one on ebay that seems legit and has dimensions that would roughly fit an FC.

Then just get a local shop to make the piping. Any competent shop will do it for under 200 dollars.

I've heard stories of the e-bay intercoolers not having turbulators, massive leaks, etc etc. Why not spend the extra $200 and get a real one custom made to your dimensions? Why take the change of burning over $200 on something that you'll likely not be able to return or exchange? Just my $.02

for 250$ you should try the corksport one.
