What model had the different hood?

 

the turboII has a steel hood w/ hood scoop. the convertable has an alluminum hood. and all others have a steel hood.

 

all of about 2 seconds could have found this.

 

If you look at the top of the 2ng gen page you will see a FAQ. read it. then learn to search. You will get yelled at if you don't....Trust me, it will make your life so much easier

No, only some Turbos had a steel hood. 90% of the Turbos had a aluminum hood. And all of Turbo models had a scoop.

And alum hoods were found on some 86 Luxurys and GXLs as well as some 88 GTU models and the 89-90 GTUs models.

But you were right on the vert. All verts came with a aluminum hood.

 

my old 90 GTU (base) came with an aluminum hood.

 

BLASPHEMY!!! My 86 base has an aluminum hood. This subject has been killed to death already and mark should close this thread, I just felt my baby was insulted by the steel hood remark.

 

my 87 base 5 sp has a steel hood,
and then im mad my friends 87 base auto had an aluminum hood,
my friends turbo II has alluminum,
then my 86 "sport" has aluminum

I haven't tried this but look for weld spots to see what the hood is made of.
