I feel sorry for you Rico hahaha. Just kidding, I have much respect fo the NA guys out there, but you can only go so far with them engine wise before your wanting forced induction. Those headlights are pretty awesome, the cheapest ones I know besides doing it yourself. I'll stick with the Amemiya kit though, I don't think I'll ever stop loving it.

Jaybr, how much of the stock light system do you remove? EVERYTHING? i.e. retractor motor, lights, light cover. . . anything I've missed? I might as well get the car ready for them. Thanks!!

You don't have to take the motors out, but I did. No use in leaving them there and it only took a few minutes to get them out.

You have to take out the entire light assembly but it will come out without taking it apart. You also have to take out the rubber seal in front of the light assembly which was the only place I had any trouble. The peice has 3 philips head screws and mine where rusted. PB Blaster worked on all but one, I had to cut it out.

I'll write up some instructions this weekend and post them.

I finally got some pictures posted at RX7 Project

The brackets are adjustable so I may go back and do some fine tuning on the alignment of the covers, but it's pretty close now.

Also, please excuse the dirty car.

What I had to do was:

* Leave the front screws out.
* Tilt the front of the fiberlass lid down and put it down in the hole
* align the back up around the lights
* lift the front until it's flush
* Then reach under the lid and put the screws in.

Hope this helps.

The kit has been here for a couple weeks now, but I'm not going to do the install myself. The car goes to the body shop on 4/8 to have the kit installed and a full paintjob. I needed the paint anyway and I figured they could do a better job with the kit than me. I'll post pictures and let you know how it fits when I get it back.

Who you getting to do the bodywork? I'm thinking about getting a painjob once I get all the dings worked out, or have the bodyshop do it if that can get me a nice package.

Ace in Petersburg. they came highly reccomended by uncle who is a dealer specializing in Corvettes. they are installing the body kit, fixing all dings, repairing some rust under front fenders, and painting for $1100. Seems reasonable to me, but I'm no expert. You'll have to come see the car when their done and judge for yourself.

BTW: did you ever get the header installed?

I still trying to get back on my feet (spare money wise) after my clutch died. I keep tossing up what I want to do with my car. Can't decide on where to start . That price isn't bad at all.
