Nota944 has them on his. They look OK, but the light quality blows. The lights are just IPf (?) foglights. NOT DOT LEGAL and not very effective for high speed nighttime excursions

Incorrect. It Is the C-West that uses CATZ Foglights. East Bear, awell as RE, uses the H3 with 55 watt bulbs which make them DOT legal.

Although I have heard the lighting to be less than Immaculate, this could be remedied by swapping to 110 watt bulbs.

That does not make them DOT legal..

The bulb itself, first off has to be DOT legal.

On top of that that, the individual housing also must be DOT approved. Something tells me that products coming from Japan probably wont have US DOT certified parts on them...

"But the best part about the East Bear kit is that it can be more easily adapted to using "proper" lighting. The Hella DOT lamps shown below have true low beam and high beam patterns and are legal for use on public roads, so no fear of tickets and a better dispersion of light. Both high and low beams use an H9 bulb. "

Yea, and in that link, they state that you can replace the ones that come with it with DOT legal housings (therefore implying that the ones that come with it are NOT DOT legal)

This also requires a little rewiring on the kit and obviously some new H9 plugs.

I've never been a fan of losing the FC pop ups, but that East Bear kit looks great (that is, if the fit is as good as OEM). The nicest is the REA, but you need the whole front end converted.

I'll post pics of the IPF "lights(?)" tonight. I had Reese's totally apart for another reason and took pics of them.

A HID conversion[properly done] would make this a decent kit if you like the way it looks ; but that bumps the cost well over $1,000.

To each his own, but out of all of the non-popup kits, I've always liked EastBears the least... Something strange about how it looks...

dunno. my half-cent.

I'd have to say that www.rx7store.com would be the best price for this kit. More to come...
