You guys are getting Methanol mixed up with Ethanol, methanol will eat rubber seals, fuel tanks, etc. Ethanol isnt as harmful to rubber seals, etc

E85 may not be as corrosive as methanol, but we are talking about cars that are at least 16 years old here, and with the normal wear, corrosion and whatnot as well as the much increased flow rates necessary to maintain current engine power, let alone make more. Replacing fuel system components with new and known resistant ones will not only give peace of mind knowing you wont spring a fuel leak while on the highway or something, but is necessary to move that much fluid

other cool thing to remember about the fuel pump. Gasoline is non conductive. Alcohol is very conductive. So run your standard gasoline fuel pump is not a good idea.
