e-shaft thermo-pellet install problems - there's nothing there!

e-shaft thermo-pellet install problems - there's nothing there!
so Im trying to install the thermo pellet plug in the eshaft on my 88 TII. It has a Bruce Turrentine/rotaryaviation rebuild with about 50k miles on it.
ive been having low oil pressure at idle when warmed up (zero at idle, ~45psi at 3k+rpm), so i figured it wouldnt hurt to install the plug and if it fixes my problem, then all the better
so im looking at this guide:

and i cant make sense of what im seeing where the e-shaft bolt went. There is no thermo pellet that I can see, but there is no plug either. I compared the bolt to what came out of a spare S5 n/a motor and the turbo bolt is shorter, smaller, and doesnt have a hollow end for the thermo pellet. Take a look:

heres what the eshaft looks like after taking out the bolt:

Look down the eccentric shaft hole and see if it's a dead end or if htere's a oil feed hole there or not.
All series four and five had the oil bypass valve. See the attached jpg out of the Training Manual and also go to the parts fische and see for yourself.
I wonder a bit if using a older model (first gen?) eccentric shaft would bugger up the balance????? Ask the guy who built the engine for you. Bruce T???????

well i stuck a piece of vacuum hose in the hole to measure how far down the "plug" you see in the pic goes, and i compared it to the S5 n/a e-shaft, and it seems to stop just short of the pellet drain hole.. I guess ill shoot RA an email and ask them whats up

well from looking at the part numbers, all the FC's used the same e-shaft bolt (P/N N318-11-420A).
The strange thing is, i have an e-shaft bolt out of an S5 n/a and my TII e-shaft bolt is completely different.. its a lot smaller
where the jspec engines different?

The GSLSE shaft and bolt do not have the spring, thermal pellet, o-ring on the bolt, etc. They swap directly into the later engines with no issues and eliminate the need for the pellet replacement. I'd say that's what happened here.

Has your oil pressure stayed consistent since the pellet mod?
