if you shrouded the panaflos and used them as pullers I bet they would do a pretty decent job, barring you trying to go puddle jumping in it. I did like the idea of smaller 12v industrial fans that are designed to take some abuse, but if youre gonna go that far why dont you just buy an oil cooler fan kit?

go with the 120mm deltas if your gonna try the comp fan thing,.. ive got 4 90mm deltas on my cpu, runs 100 degrees with fans on low,..

They dont draw to many amps wither, mine draw 1.5 each, i think the 120's are 2 amps,.. ive got the specs sheet for the delta fans, its avaliable from there website.

3 of them would be 600 cfm,..

You mean 92mm.
And how are you getting 200cfm each?

190cfm
24 watts each.
2 amps each.
59DBL
DAMN.

Those are not meant for any moisture- they are not fluid bearing- meaning with normal road dirt- they will die very quickly.

Oh Ill admit it. Im a computer hardware tech. Stupid geeks. :p

The thermal bypass is there to effectively "turn off" the oil cooler until the engine warms up. Once the oil reaches 150degF it closes and oil can flow through the cooler. It's only used during warm-up and has zero effect on oil temps after that, since oil temps are at least 180degF in normal driving. It's not used to regulate oil temps like the coolant thermostat does.

The thermal bypass has nothing to do with your problem. All you're achieving is slowere warm-up and the resulting increasing enigne wear and fuel consumption.

From the same catalogue -

$312 for Electric Fan - Late-Style Carrera Factory Oil Cooler. Abit expensive and big.

I'm abit surprised to see no pics or direct part numbers used for their application. Back to the drawing board.

Just a thought, could he use the 12a oil cooler under the oil filter as a secondary cooler? All you would need to do is route a coolant hose to it.
