Talking E-fan questions where to buy. (I searched!)

I've read about every damn E-fan thread we have on here learned alot about it. I have a bad clutch on my fan, I have an FD alt. to take care of the current draw problems, I think I've got all the bases covered and I'm doing it for the right reasons so that NZconvert. isn't gonna come in here and lay into me

Down to the buisness where do you guys buy your E-fans/thermoswitches and shrouds. I've searched around found a few places that sell fans, never sure if it was coming with the thermorswitch or not. and I have found NO places selling a shroud I could use. Any help?

most fans come with shrouds... thermostats are normaly seperate. almost any parts place will have them. try summit or jegs for both fans and thermostats...

if i were to buy an e-fan, i think i would save up for and drop the money on a black magic fan. runs around $200 and comes with a shroud. pumps alot of air and draws like 14 amps. you can find them at both summit and jegs as Scott mentioned.

I'm all about the quality over quantity. Unless someone shows me a better product in the next few days, the Black magic is were I'm going.

If I was in your position I'd do exactly the same thing.

Look around for big OEM electric fans at a wrecker. They almost always come with shrouds. You should be able to get wire and connectors, a fuse, a relay and the thermoswitch from a decent autoparts store.

You could get a fiero fan from the junkyard for $18.00 and it fits perfectly over the stock radiator. Here is a pic

I got a Permacool 16inch "Finger Chopper".

It's 90 bux or something like that. Summit is where I got mine.
I then went to my local hot rod shop and got a Black Magic temp switch. It is pretty good. It uses a probe which you put through the rubber inlet hose and into the coolant so you get a good reading.

The Black magic fan is damn sweet since it has a shroud and a built in temp switch. Although at 225 bones I went this way.

The permacool outflows the Black magic by a little and with the temp switch has cost me around $140 total.

I plan to Fiber glass or carbon fiber a shroud to fit over my koyo. In the end I should have a damn cold engine!
