Drivers door wont open!!!

I tried opening It with a key (duh) and from the Inside handle. It won't budge. I just tried to Jimmy It open but nothing happens.

The push lock, from the Inside handle, goes up and down unlocking/locking the doors aswell as activating the Factory Alarm. I'm begining to think that It Is the handle. If so, how the heck am I going to open the door to get at the skin to remove the handle?

If you lock it from the inside then the factory alarm will be armed. But if you locked it from the outside(with a key), then it won't armed. I'm pretty sure of that but don't blame if your stuff get stolen and it didn't trip.

btw, the cost for these new door handles are over $85ea, and over $140 for the fancier ones(ie light illumination and alarm), couldn't I just swipe one from a junk yark?

No. From outside and Inside, I can't open It. The lock moves freely like It did before.

Yea they are Interchangable If you don't mind not having the Key light feature when you lift the handle.

silverrotor- yeah you are right i guess i did answer it, but the alarm system, i want to be able to fix my lock, yet still use the factory alarm, like be able to set it from out side? how would i go about doing this, just get one out of a yard and get a new one (would a smith be able to make so i can use my old key?)? or is it something a lock smith would be able to fix?

I doubt you'll get a match for your lock from a scrap yard. Best bet would be to get a new lock from the Dealer.

As for your Factory Alarm right now, I would try to shutting and locking the Drivers door. Swing around to the Passengers door. Open It. From the Inside handle, lock the door then close the door but simutaneously hold the handle up. You should have the Factory Alarm engaged. If that doesn't work than you need to start checking connections.

If you read the post correctly than you would have understood a screwdriver was driven Into his lock. Therefore his lock needs to be replaced. Not the lock cylinders.

HAHA the dukes of hazard kick ***, but yeah silverrotor- I dont think the alarm actually runs of the lock, im thinking it runs of the inside locking mechinism, so therefore, replacing the lock itself wouldent effect the alarm as long as the inside part still goes down when you lock it. If that makes any sense at all haha. anyway, thanks alot for all the help.

1.After taking a look at my car it seems you could remove the drivers side seat (as to have enough room to work) pull it out the passenger side

2.take everything off the door panel (arm rest, release handle cup, screw in bottom left corner)

3. Pull the door panel back and get to the lock mechanism to open the door and fix properly(yes where it meets the dash it will still be attached but you can bend it out enough to get to the lock)

Your very limited this way. Plus I'm not sure If that Is possible. There Is a matter of another screw that holds the skin up. Then again, you are limited. I'll keep you updated.

The only other screw I know of is the one in front of the vent upper right hand corner. The rest are plastic pop fasteners.

I did forget you need to lift up on the panel after pulling it loose.

You might have to destroy the panel to get to it.
