Driveability factors without a cat?
Well my Mechanic wont touch my car unless its got a cat on it, well can hollow it out and bring it in he said, and he'll work on it. But my question is, with open exhaust manifolds, it wont hold an idle, well will there be enough back preasure without a cat to let it idle?

It should run fine without any cat. If you are having idling problems it is probably due to a vacuum leak.
So your car runs fine with the cat on but wont idle without it?

well i have an open manifold, and its not idleing at all, just dies, but if i keep giving it gas and keeping it at 1,000rpm it runs fine. I just need to know if a hollowed out cat will cause my engine not to idle *im having a section from exhaust manifold to the cat made, and i was gona hollow it out but i wanted to make sure i wouldnt have any running problems* make absolutely sure of what you say cause its gona take alot of work, and i dont wana do it for nothing i need very good advice.
