Draining Engine Block Coolant
I can't fathom how, if I do manuver a wrench in to loosen the engine block drain plug.. where the hell that coolant is gonna go... I know the first place will be the motor mount.... then probably run down that to something else... um... am I missing something?

Curious, but when the coolant is out of the block, should you just fill the rad cap as much as possible, then start the engine and while its running fill it some more?

And yeah I have AC, the compressor is big, yes it's in the way. ;D
Um and most places are saying I need to run the engine to get all the coolant out? What is right? '90 N/A GXL... there is some sort of temperature sensitive valve I need to set off?

You don't need to run it...You'll still have little pockets of coolant you'll see as you're tearing her down, but nothing that's gonna flood your garage, lol...
Just refill via the rad cap, crank her up to break the t-stat open, then top her off after shutdown via the t-stat housing cap...

yeah, that drain plug on the engine block is a biatch...
the first time i couldn't even find it, so i just ended up flushing out of the rad about a dozen times...it'll work that way too, but takes a while

If you have a crow's foot set, use that for the plug, on a 3/8" drive ratchet- it allows you a little more room to maneuver down there...
If you don't have a crow's foot set- get one...They come in handy in a lot of tight spots. A 9/16" works well for the tranny fill plug, for instance...

I just popped it loose with a rachet, took the rest out by hand and let it drain, worked great, thanks! =)
Now on to removing the radiator... heh... I'm sure I'll be back later with more questions. Anyone that has experience removing the engine, and pretty much everything, hit me up on AIM "Thatguy Holl" even if I'm away I'll add you when I get back and check my messages and probably bombard you with questions! =P
Actually here's a good one for right now, how do I relieve the fuel line pressure NOW that the car cannot be turned on (battery and everything is already out)?

to refill. Fill the radiator full....then crank it up to open the t-stat...as the coolant goes down, top off the radiator again, then do it again, and again till its full...and you see a bit in the overflow tank.
