dragging brakes

on my 87 n/a, the tires are hard as hell to rotate when the car's lifted up. they just got new pads about 1-2k mi ago. are there any write-ups for a solution?

Your caliper may also be bad. I had that problem (brake dragging), when I went to change the pads and rotate the piston back in, it was extremely difficult. Then the caliper wouldn't squeeze the pad at all, and started leaking fluid. Replaced it with a rebuilt unit from Discount Auto.

the piston might be worn down.

ok i've FINALLY got the new lines installed. no difference. but the guys at the shop told me that the tires shouldnt be running freely (when lifted up) to begin with because of the driveshaft or something.

after getting the lines installed, the brakes felt almost the same as from before. everybody told me SS lines would blow my mind but nieh, they feel the same!

see thats the thing, none of them spin....you can spin them with your own force but once you let go of the tire, they stop.
