Drag strip - Adjustable strut setting? & Tire Pres?

I have the RB springs and Koni Yellow struts. Just wondering what I should set the struts to? Full soft?

And what rear tire pressure should I run?

Thanks!

thats a tough question to answer due to the fact that it varyes per car. if you are running radial tires, you really dont want to drop the tire pressure to low as your tires will start to run down the outside edges instead of the entire tire width therefore being worse then you started. you really only drop tire press when you have real racing tires.

if you DO have real racing slicks, then you should try starting around 20 pounds or so, see how that does. if its running ont he inside, the inflate it alittle, if your still abel to drop some, then drop the press. also just go by times, start lowering it,when you see your times starting to get slower.... thats your clue to go back up.

i would run the front struts at 5 (or what ever max is) and the rear on 3 , start from there and you can try a few different setting to see what works best for you

I picked up my best 60' time when I jacked all my Illuminas to softest setting.
I've tried the stiff front, soft rear like typical drag racers do, but it wasn't as fast as the all soft setting.
The name of the game is weight transfer; you want the car to transfer as much weight as possible to the rear.

what were you getting 60" wise with your set up, i run the illumias with eibachs and a set of nitto 555r's in the rear and my best so far is a 2.1, i just can't seem to break into the 1.9 range

I couldn't get my 60' times under mid 2.2's.
Tokico Illuminas, GC coilovers (400F/325R), Nitto 555R drag radials 225/50/16 in rear on FD rims (no spacers).
One of the fucked up things I found out later was my rear had too much negative camber - an adjustable rear camber bar fixed that.

Once I had the Illuminas on softest setting both front and rear, the 60' times dropped to mid to low 2.1's.
Remember, the car still had the screwed up negative camber in rear.
A full 1/10th second drop in the 60' was a pleasant surprise.
I think my springs were too stiff use the typical stiff front / soft rear?

BTW, I wasn't doing very aggressive burn-outs with the drag radials.
My typical burn-out would be about 3-4 seconds.

i got a 1.999 on stock s5 NA suspension (that had 160k miles on it) with FD wheels and nitto555r drag radials that were showing chord. this was after a tiny burnout (they wont let us use the burnout box on DR's)

2.1 60ft's with a 3-4 second burnout, adjustable suspension and drag radials is horrible. get that camber fixed

My 1.8 60 ft was on Tokico 5-ways all the way around. Hardest setting rear, like a 2 on the front. Tire pressure was around 24 PSI.
