DP & MP questions (I read for hours first)
First off, I know DP & MP questions are a dime a dozen, but I haven't been able to have my questions clarified.
1. If I went with a 2.5" DP & MP with my stock exhaust, should I expect a 2-4 psi boost increase or would the exhaust limit it substantially?
2. Would a wastegate port be prudent?
3. Can I get away with just an FCD?
4. Am I sort of wasting the DP & MP with the stock exhaust?
5. Fuel mods; Would I be safe enough with just a fuel pump rewire? To keep things cheap, I'd like to initially stay away from getting an S-AFC.
6. Would the mufflers get blown out?
Thanks for any and all responses.

1. The mufflers are very restictive, get rid of them.
2. Probably not until you ditch the stock mufflers
3. Yep
4. Yep
5. Depends on what boost you end up with, but probably
6. They probably already are, see 1.

So basically if I went that route I would be wouldn't need anything too fancy , but I would be wasting my time? However if I get a catback, there's no reason not to get the full RB system which is more effective and cheaper (for the performance and sum of parts) but means fuel mods, large expense? This is why I posted.
Can anyone suggest a cost effective alternative to all or nothing? What about a DP alone?

There was a good article in Grassroots Motorsports(Nov88)which quoted data from Cartech. For the exhaust it went like this for exhaust restriction--
mufflers--2psi ie a good flowing muffler
main cat--3.5psi
front cat--5psi
Cartech did offer a turbo back system which reduced exhaust back pressure by over 80%.I don,t know anything about it size wise.
But using an RB 21/2 DP with factory cat and mufflers gains you a noticable improvent--I have this set up and only encounter fuel cut on a very cold day.
I have a similar set up on my other TII with a Dynomax cat back, and while it makes more noise there is no huge improvement over my other car(this could be because the turbo is not as good).
It was necessary to fabricate ~3 inch connectors to connect the DP to the main cat.I also ran with a RB 3inch turbo back system for a while but thought it too risky without fuel mods etc--but a lot more performance than my current set up.
