I've got the same problem.

There is a small spring across the top of the inside of the lock mechanism. It broke. Now once the door is locked, it cannot be unlocked. I had to remove the door panel and push the mechanism with a screwdriver.

I'm not sure where I will get a small replacement spring or how I will replace the spring. The spring is behind the window track so there is very limited visibility and accessability. It may be easier to remove the latch mechanism in order to replace the spring but it doesn't look like fun.

Sounds like the same thing that happened to me. I ended up takig the door pannel off from the inside. well you can't take it all the way off. what happened is the plastic clip poped off the metal wire inside, so you have to manually pull the wire up to open the door, then once you have the door opened you can finish putting everything back together.

nope not frozen oddly enough ever since our two days of weather in the teen and lots of snow (very fun to drift in) but its been like 60 lately. But screw the locks anyway now my clutch gave out could it be the throwout bearing cause it feels similar to when my master and slave cylenders were weak but i just replaced them so i doubt its that

WOW!

I have this EXACT problem with my DSM.

I tried in vain for hours to get the damn thing open with a coathanger/etc, and from what I can tell, the door panel wont' come off without opening the door first!

I think I'm just going to cut a hole on the outside of the door and replace the door, it's junk anyways..

mines not junk at all tho so cutting any holes is out of the question. I'd cut the interior panel before the metal anyway
