Door Locks unlock when i close the door.

Well I had a s5 that did this to me and now my new s4 TII is doing it, if someone gets out of my car in the passenger seat and locks their door from the inside, and closes the door, the lock will pop back up as soon as the door closes and they can open it right back up again. I searched a little bit and all I could find was https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ighlight=locks but I don't think that will fix a problem, anyone know for sure what to do?

You didn't mention if you close the door while holding the handle up? If you haven't try that... hold the handle up and close at the same time...

Ive owned 3 fc's and they all did this. I just figured it was normal. You have to hold the outer handle up when you close it.

Yeah, if you have a mazda from the late 80s/early 90s you're pretty much assured that you'll have to hold the handle up.

I just lock with my keys, that way I don't end up locking my keys in the car on accident one day

I believe most older Japanese cars had this feature. Late 80s Subarus certainly have it.

This is kind of OT, but I locked my keys in my GMC Jimmy today and some dude showed me how to unlock the door with a coin, it was pretty nifty..

Keep in mind that the factory anti theft (if ya got it) won't set unless you lock it without the keys though.

my buddy's S5 doors will lock without holding the handle up, but only if you shut the door all the way. if you close it gently and it only latches a little bit, it unlocks.
my S4 on the other hand, does exactly what you are talking about, you have to hold the door handle up.
i only have to lock my passenger door and roll the windows up... im sure you can figure out why

This is also OT, but that reminds me of a useful trick I learned, I don't know if this works on rx7's but..

Many car alarms will go off if you lift up on the front end of the car. I think it's to make the tow truck drivers job easier. It doesn't take much lifting.
I've only had two oppurtunities to try it, worked both times.
