Door locks ... broken

well, long story short, I think both door locks and the ignition lock are on its last leg, I wont blame them, after all my S5 its a 19 yr old car

So, if I buy new locks from Mazda, how do I "set" it up? anybody know how/did it before ?

Thx a bunch

Take the new locks to a locksmith and get them keyed to your original key.

I suppose you could do it yourself. I do not believe locksmiths have any tools that a mechanic would not have. However, the knowledge is what he/she has. I took apart a couple of door locks to clean them. Not too hard to do that but I have never attempted to rekey them.

Just go a locksmith.
I took my ignition assy, both door and hatch locks in.
For $90 he rebuilt all four units and cut a new master key and two dupes.
One of the better investments I've made for my car.

Thats what Im thinking.

Not to mention, I kinda want to change the key code of the car ... nothing wrong with the original key code, just want to try something different.
