Question Door lock motor?

Hi,
I have a 89 TII stock power door locks. I have been working on my alarm and keyless entry for the entire day now. (and searched ALOT without luck) After reading past posts by Icemark and others (THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE INFO) I learned about the "follow me" lock system.

So right now i wired the door lock and unlock wires of my alarm to the 2 wires on my driver's door lock switch.

the problem is like everyone else's the passanger door locks and unlocks (only sometimes) and the driver's door don't do shi*

but when i went to the autoloc website and looked at their kits, i saw the same mechanism in my driver's door. (see attachment)

Do i need to buy a motor and relays (if so how should i wire it to my keyless entry system?) and if i don't have to buy a new motor, same question, how should i wire it?

Nope. Actually very very few FC's have power locks (well actually slave locks, since in most cases the drivers door is just a switch and not a lock motor).
Is that a door lock motor in my driver's door?

That picture is of an aftermarket door lock motor, in the drivers door.

The switch for the latch is what you will want to clean, to make both doors work off of the interior latch switch.

Well, the interior latch works well =) but when i tried to wire the keyless entry to it, it doesn't work =(

So there should be a relay near that door lock motor.... correct?

(sorry, i have no idea what to do) ^_^
well, reading from other threads... having that door lock motor there should make keyless entry install MUCH easier......

http://www.the12volt.com/doorlocks/page3.asp#3wp

which diagram should i follow?

Unless your keyless has on board relays you will use the Actuators / Reverse Polarity diagram on the blue and green wire going to that door lock motor.

"The only difference is there's no switch! Both motor legs rest at ground at the relays To lock or unlock the vehicle, polarity is changed on one motor leg."

Well i used a multimeter to check the voltage of the wires at the harness.

when locks are engaged the G/R wire gets a 12V+ and 0 V- at unlock

when locks are disengaged the G/Y wire gets a 12V+ and 0 V- at lock

there is also a black wire that is a constant ground.

wouldn't that be different than the "Actuators / Reverse Polarity" wiring?

Yeah, you are not using the factory wires... just the two wires (the blue one and the green one) going to that aftermarket door lock motor.

See if the factory Mazda latch switch is working correctly, then when you actuate the aftermarket door lock motor, it will move the latch switch, which will then activate the passengers factory door lock motor.

I traced the door lock motor wires from the door into the driver's side kick panel.
These 2 wires (blue and green)

connects to

another strand of wires (didn't take them apart, but assuming they are the power, ground, etc.) these 2 relays...

Should i wire my keyless entry system into these relays OR should i just get 2 new relays, break these wires, and then do the actutators/ reverse polarity set up and connect the "to door lock motor" wires BACK to these 2 relays and let them work as they do now?

Ok, now that i connected the relays like the diagram below...

but after connecting....

nothing happens...

i checked the voltage of the wires that connect to the door lock motor... at rest, BOTH wires is at 0
when i lock my alarm, the blue wire gets a momentary 12 volt (+) then it returns to 0
when i unlock, the green wire gets a momentary 12 volt (+) then it returns to 0

but for some reason, the door lock motor does not lock or unlock....
is there a way to check the door lock motor and see if it is defective? like run a 12 volt pulse thru one wire to see if it locks or unlocks?

whats wrong? someone please help

Yep, those are aftermarkte Bosch relays as well.

You can take 12 volts directly to the green lead of the motor (when it is disconnected from anything but the motor) and ground to the blue lead of the motor, and it should move. if it does not reverse... if it still does not move... it is bad.
