Door Handle Light *Pics Inside*
Heres a mini-writeup on how to install the door handle light.
What I used:
Small phillips screwdriver
13/64" Drill Bit (depending on size of LED)
4 LED's (I got them from a friend, dont know rating)
If you have a door handle that has the key light option and you like this, then you may do this setup at your own risk. I started off by getting the handle completly out (always works best) I proceeded pull off the switch that activates the light when the handle opens and the key lock cylinder. I marked out the holes where i wanted to drill for the placements of the LEDs, space them out as you feel. I drilled 3 in the handle and i also placed one in the old key light entry, 4 low voltage LEDs work well because it takes away the need for a resistor. Make sure when you solder the LED's together you get the polarity right and that none of the connections touch the handle (this will cause the cause the lights to stay on all the time and/or burn out an LED). Sorry guys, i lost the pictures with them wired together on the handle (you can take electrical engineering into your own hands here). Polarity is a big issue make sure you get it right before you solder. After you get everything positioned and wraped with electrical tape and test it. If everything worked then you can go ahead and super glue the lights into the holes (my bottle of super glue blew up all over my hand, now that sucked!!). Reinstall the Switch to make sure everything works well and that nothing is in the way of the handle lever and the key lock on the door. If anyone has questions about it PM me or message me on AIM (bcool122). The pictures show it as pretty bright but not that bright.

^ haha, yeah i know kina seems like a ricer mod but i wanted to replace the keylight entry and 4 LED's worked w/o figuring out resistance. I think it looks nice and almost like a stock option, and again, its not that bright, the camera just picked up the light on the handle really well. Plus, alot of people liked the idea so i did a wrietup for them.

The original key light mechanism turns on when you lift up on the handle or if the door is open. It shuts off about 20 sec after you shut the door. It will stay off all the time when the car is on, no matter if you open the door or lift up on the handle, i belive if you have an alarm it will turn on upon unlock.

At first when i read door handle lights i thought to myself "RICE" but i have to say that looks great. Not ricey at all.
Do you guys think that if you made it any other collor it would be ricy? What about black led's?

I know, when i get an alarm installed it will make for a lot more functionability.

yes when you light up the door handle the key hole light comes on plus the extra light from the handle makes it very easy to see what your doing.
If anyone attempts this take some pics for me i wanna see how this looks possibly on different color cars and different LED's if you so chose.
