Door Handle gasket

I've been poring over the parts lists and can't find anything - does anyone happen to know the part number for the black plastic gasket that installs between the door handle and the door?

I think you're screwed. I looked and didn't see it listed. When I changed my door handle it came with the gasket. Maybe a used one is around?

I did that once before to my Thunderbird and wired it to the car alarm so I could hold down the button and pop the driver's door open, hold down the second button and pop the passenger door, then relocated the battery to the trunk so I could always pop the trunk and jump the battery if it died, with a separate button on the trunk battery case in case the battery in my car alarm remote died.

RX7 would actually be a good car to do that to, because if the battery dies you can always open the hatch with your key and get in that way, but with as much other stuff as I've had to do to it, it's just not in the budget. Maybe in the future, after I make sure the thing runs. It still hasn't been started since the rebuild 5 months ago.

Is it something you could make out of just gasket material (spray painted black or something)?

Unfortunately it's formed and plastic. It's not a big deal, I was just putting in an order for some new bits from MazdaSpeed and thought it would be easier to buy them for $2/pc than to clean all the old scabby paint off the ones I have. I guess not. :P
