Door handle connector question?

Door handle connector question?
Kinda of a newb question, but see that white connector on the right? I noticed after putting my new driver's door handle in that connector was there. I figure its for the alarm or something? Anyone know? I was concerned that it may have an interlock that prevents starting the car (motor out of car right now).

Ok, thanks for the quick reply. Odd that the handle is brand new and doesn't have it. Old handle has the wires and I guess it can be removed from the old handle and transferred over to the new handle, but I really don't want to remove the handle again right now (no power to roll down the window for better access)

If for some reason you DO want keyhole illum to work-- You need to replace the bulb in the keyhole. I just resolder on a "new" bulb (i take the security or ignition key hole bulbs whenever in the junk yard for this) to the 2 wire leads. Now the part that blows, since it's an S5, odds are the only way to get it to work is to replace the CPU w/ a new one. It's $120 for an FC01, or $85 for a FC66. Depends if you have air bag or not. FC01 is non airbag. This piece also controls the security system, door open/keyhole reminder beeper, keyhole illum for door & ign, and seat belt warning light.
Hope this all helps!

That is EXACTLY what you need to do. And, while you have it apart, what ^ he said about replacing the key hole bulb as long as you have it apart.

Thanks Landon303 for shaming me into doing it right. I pulled the handle back off and took the old pieces off the old handle and transferred them over. Unwrapped the wires and took the one connector off, installed it and re-wrapped in with electrical tape. Done right! Pics of the canabilized handle and new handle (on green towel) in case someone needs to do the same. The thingy in the center of the handle is what got changed over.
