dont know why it wont start ???

I have a 1987 gs 2nd gen rx7 n/a 13b automatic that was given to me, it sat for a year and has problems starting.... i replaced the oil, battery, alternator was tested and is good, fuel pump, fuel filter, plugs and wires, air filter, starter..... it is so close to turning over i can feel it but it doesntstay turned over..... drained the gas filled the gas 3/4 of the way and pured some heat in the gas....and i know not to pump the gas, just to turn it over cause the electric fuel pump.... i read quite a few sections in here and it helped out alot but im stuck with no clue.....does ne one have ne suggestions ????

Does the exhaust smell like gas when you crank it? It may be sticky fuel injectors and/or apex seals from sitting so long... If it doesn't smell like gas then pull the 15a fuel pump (engine) fuse from the inside fuse box, pour a little gas down the throttle body and see if it fires up.

If it does smell like gas then follow the procedures for deflooding an engine. ~rich

Btw, pumping the gas won't matter.

Well could be faulty grounding. If your have a voltmeter and are pretty confindent with using one, your could test pins 3G. Its a black wire, should read .5 or less with the IGNITION OFF. Nothing higher. If it is reading higher then you have a ground problem. Which means your injectors might have power but dont have a complete circuit. You pretty much got 2 options on fixing this. Redoing the ground wiring. http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/ has a good tech on how to do this. Or you could do what I did with my T2. Got to the black ground wire in the engine bay next to the airpump. Spliced another wire into it and put one of the crimps that has the hole in it and put a bolt in there and bolted it to the firewall. Works great and my idle is rock hard.
