doing my own porting.. q??s?

because i feel like it. Ive read up as many threads as i can, but im having trouble finding specific information on what i should be designing into my ports..
So far my plan is to port the 5th and 6th ports majorly and do some work on the aux ports. Im basically shooting for more usable power to 7500rpm.
Should i be looking at making the 5th and 6th ports open earlier and later or later only ? Aux ports.. ive heard the best way to go is up. Any words of advice? I have a few irons that i can practice on of course.. just looking for advice on a mild streetport.

this is a good site to look at for a reference.

i just did my own first port job on a 88 6-porter. i concentrated on the primaries, and had the secondaries opnened up just a bit. i don't know if this was the best way to go, but so far i'm happy with the results.
