Need help with fc purchase

I recently got addicted to rx7's after getting a ride in one. So my price range is like $5-7k but all I'm seeing in this area is NA for high price or Tii for rediculous price. I know I want a turbo eventually, but the cost of a Tii is just so high I am wondering if it would be preferable to just do a swap. After reading through the faq's it looks like you need the whole driveline engine to rearend pretty much, so I'd be looking at getting a junkyard special and gutting it. Is there any difference in the chassis that would present a problem in just bolting everything in? I've seen there is a difference from 88-89 but is it in the engines or the chassis?

An unrelated question, I keep seeing cars for sale with freshly rebuilt engines.(under 500mi) is there any way to tell if the engine is good if it isn't broken in yet? should these cars be avoided?

Most of the NA's around here are going for that price range. I've found 2 Tii's one was really nice but they wanted $10k the other is about 200 miles away and has a brand new rebuild with a "hot start problem" and he wants $3k for it.
