On my 88 TII, I have an SX Performance FPR and standalone ECU. The vac/boost source for both is tapped into the vacuum hose from the manifold to the Air Bypass Valve (pg 162 in the Haynes manual).

The leg that feeds the ECU, goes from right to left across the firewall, inside the cabin with the main harness, then back across behind the dash from left to right where the ECU is mounted next to the passenger's left knee.

I am installing a PLX DM100 with vac/boost sensor and want to put a tee near the ECU and mount the sensor under the dash nearby expecting to get the closest display of what the ECU sees.

My question: does the length of the vac hose seem okay? From the tee that goes to the FPR and ABV, to the ECU is nearly 6ft of hose.

Would it be better to drill through the firewall on the right side and reduce the overall hose length to under 2 ft? Or does the length not matter?

It may have a slower response with the longer hose.
