Does my car need new oilpickup tube ? oilcap wont thread on
Just recently i noticed my oilcap wont tighten down, it wont even start to tighten at all.
I inspected the oil cap and one part of the threads seem to have broken (in the middle), but both the top and bottom are completely fine, i was wondering if the threads in the oil pickup tube for the oilcap to go onto could have somehow been eliminated because i can push the cap in there and it doesnt want to thread onto anything.
I ordered a new oil cap should be here soon, but have a feeling i might need new oilpickuptube.

You found busted threads on the oil cap, and you're asking if you need to change the oil pick-up tube?
Dude, it sounds like the oil fill cap is bad.
People tend to overtighten the oil fill cap, and this will bust the threads on the plastic (phenolic?) oil fill cap.
The oil pick-up tube has stamped threads in it that is supposed to secure the oil fill cap.
You should be able to examine these threads - might want to just feel them with your fingers - pretty easily.
The oil pick-up tube is black, so it might be pretty hard to eyeball the threads, especially when dark.
If the oil pick-up tube is damaged, the opening would not be a perfect circle, and the threads would be damaged / smashed.
