Does this mean anything special?
I have a sticker on my back window that sais mazda championship winner 86-87 it is a original sticker from the factory so if anyone knows about this let me know. By the way my car is a 88 gxl.

Those stickers are getting very rare. They were a port installed sticker found on the rear windows of coupes for each year Mazda won the IMSA GTU championships.

ok instead of starting another thread can someone tell me if gtu's are turbocharged cause I am going to get one thats broke down for 250 is that a good deal it is a 91

as i understand it, they were the turbo model but without the turbo.

as i understand it, they were the turbo model but without the turbo.
While yes they shared some of the things a Turbo had (like a rear spoiler, and shocks (but not spings), the 89-90 GTU is not any more a Turbo model than any other non turbo.
Even the famed 89-90 GTUs model only got the seats from a Turbo, but retained all the same non turbo driveline and suspension.
And there was no such thing as a 91 GTU model. In 91 there was only the coupe, the Turbo and the convertible.

EDIT: Nevermind, I saw that he had an '88 GXL. I skimmed over the GXL part and assumed he just had an '88. Oh well maybe he was asking about the '88 GTU?

they are interesting to have, atleast it shows our cars do have a solid racing history, ive seen them on many s4/s5's but not in a long time, i guess as time goes on people take them off or they fall off, a replica would be nice.
